BCSN partners with BlackCollegeNines.com to introduce Pre-Season Top 10


ATLANTA, GA. (Revised February 14, 2021) - In partnership with BlackCollegeNines.com, the Black College Sports Network (BCSN) will be hosting a media roundup over two days with the head coaches of the BlackCollegeNines.com 2021 HBCU Pre-Season Top 10 Large School and Small School Polls


Monday February 15 beginning at 11 am EST, head coaches from teams in the “small school” division poll, which is made up of NCAA Division II schools as well as those in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), will have a 15 minute interview window that will include an opening statement then Q&A session from media members.


On Wednesday February 17, head coaches from teams in the “large school” division poll, which is made of NCAA Division I schools, will have a session beginning at 11 am EST in the same format as the session on Monday.


Media members are encouraged to register  by  9:30 am  the day of the scheduled event to be part of the Q&A session that will take place for each head coach. 19 of the 20 head coaches have confirmed their appearance as of this article's post. Video of the media roundup will be made available following the event.


Alabama State finished the shortened season with a 14-4 record overall and was named Black College Nine's (BCN) 2020 HBCU Baseball large school National Champion. They ware one of seven Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) teams in this year’s preseason top 10 poll. The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) had three of its conference members ranked in the preseason poll, including North Carolina Central who made the announcement on February 11th that they will discontinue their baseball program following this season.


Lane College was selected as the preseason number one ahead of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) conference rival Kentucky State University.  The Dragons started the 2020 season unranked and finished the season with an overall 10-6 record to win the program's first national title.
