NCAA Division II Indoor National Championship Results

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Kizan David won the national title in the long jump and was the national runner-up in the triple jump as the Lincoln men's indoor track & field team finished seventh at the NCAA Division II Championships on Saturday (March 13). Lincoln, which was ranked No. 16 in the nation entering the NCAA meet, finished with 25 points to post the second-best team score of any MIAA program, behind only Pittsburg State (fifth, 30 points).

David won the national championship in the long jump on Friday (March 12) with a leap of 7.66m, and had an impressive showing once again in the triple jump on Saturday. On his final jump of the meet, David traveled 15.61m to take second place.

Lincoln claimed fourth in the 4x400m relay, as the team of
Reuben Nichols, Colby Jennings, Jr., Jahnaza Francis and Kewani Campbell timed in at 3:14.34. Jennings also represented LU in the 400m, placing seventh in 48.30.

Every Blue Tiger who qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships earned All-American first team honors.


CAN'T FORGET ABOUT THE LADIES


The Lady Blue Tigers finished 3rd in last year's Indoor National Championships on the strength of their 4x400m relay team that finished first with a time of 3:37.12.  This year, the women's 4x400 meter relay team finished 5th with a time of 3:48.39.


Sophomore Chrissani May, who runs the anchor leg on the 4x400 meter relay team, finished fifth in the Women 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:11.54.


The men and women will look to defend their Outdoor National Championship May 27-29 at the GVSU South Complex in Allendale, MI.
